I've been visiting the local marsh the last few days. There are lots of migrating birds this time of year. Right now, I'm seeing blue wing teal, shovelers, and a lot of American coots. They stayed out a little too far for pictures, however. But by being patient, I managed to get a couple of images of shore birds.
This greater yellowlegs was working the shallows picking up tidbits.
This killdeer also wandered in. Just by "hiding" behind the tripod and keeping still, I was able to get close to otherwise wary birds. I'll be visiting the marsh again soon.
